With Herzog & de Meuron and Vebego/Move Consultants, two established and internationally experienced players have joined forces to break up the conventional office structures and develop Innovation City (iCITY).
Herzog & de Meuron (HdM)
Jacques Herzog and Pierre de Meuron, with their company JP Bachgraben AG, are owner of the ALBA Haus. The ALBA Haus project is being designed, and realized by the architecture firm HdM, and the project is lead by its internal competence center JP DL an independent real estate service provider with continued close ties to Jacques Herzog and Pierre de Meuron. JP DL has many years of experience in client representation and project development and provided the strategic basis for the building programme, which has been further developed in collaboration with Herzog & de Meuron in recent years.
Established in Basel in 1978, Herzog & de Meuron is a partnership led by Jacques Herzog and Pierre de Meuron together with Senior Partners. An international team of over 500 collaborators including the two Founders, five Senior Partners, ten Partners, and 50 Associates work on projects across Europe, the Americas and Asia. The main office in Basel is supported by its studios in Germany in Berlin and Munich; in Hong Kong; in the UK in London; and in the USA in New York and San Francisco; and by its site offices in Copenhagen and Paris.
The practice has designed a wide range of projects from the small scale of a private home to the large scale of urban design. Many projects are highly recognized public facilities, such as museums, stadiums, and hospitals, and they have completed distinguished private projects including offices, laboratories and apartment buildings. Awards received include the Pritzker Architecture Prize (USA) in 2001, the RIBA Royal Gold Medal (UK), the Praemium Imperiale (Japan), both in 2007, and the Mies Crown Hall Americas
Vebego Schweiz Holding AG, based in Zurich, is one of the leading providers of real estate and facility management services. With its subsidiary Move Consultants AG, which is the market leader in the data trust, strategic real estate and workspace solutions are offered. Together with its subsidiary Move Consultants, Vebego has many years of experience as an operator of technology parks and co-working spaces and is a service provider for numerous life sciences companies. The holding company is a 100 per cent self-financed family business, employs around 8,000 people and achieved a turnover of over CHF 240 million in 2020.
